Food and Nutrition Services
The Food and Nutrition Services department serves nutritious meals in a safe, sanitary, and continuously improving environment and provides consumer education regarding the benefits of nutrition intervention.
The hours of food service are from 5:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m., 7 days a week. Clinical nutrition services are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Registered Dietitian "on call" provides for coverage during off-hours and holidays.
The department is located on the 1st floor, Northeast, adjacent to Recovery.
The services provided include, but are not limited to:
- Outpatient / Inpatient diet education
- Review nutrition screens of patients for necessary nutrition intervention
- Develop Nutrition Care Plans for necessary patients
- Monitor NPO status
- Interact with other members of the health care team and participate in Case Management conferences
- F/U on effectiveness of Nutrition Care plan by writing progress notes.
- Provide all services necessary for patient meal service including therapeutic diet therapy.
The Food and Nutrition Department services the following patient population, including but not limited to:
- Patients of all acuity
- Patients from any geographical location rural areas / urban areas
- Patients of all socioeconomic status
- Patients of all ages
- Patients with any clinical condition or diagnosis
